> Be Transparent

I’m not quite sure if my translating skills is accurate but there is a French Proverb that states Il ne fait aucun oreiller si doux que la conscience claire which means `There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience.’  We were always taught as children that honesty is the best policy as do any demand for any relationship nothing keeps it going by being honest with your partner.

By now, I’d expect you understand how communication is very important, and so is trust – but as you do know trust comes with being transparent. Just like bread and butter, they are very important to your partner.

By being transparent to your partner, it opens for a whole understanding, and for your partner to accept for who you are, aside from which being open to things may it be problems, challenges that you face especially to things that are very much bottled inside you. It also is best to be also transparent when you know you’ve been caught, and admitting your mistake.

Remember your love one will accept things for who you are as a person, by being open to it, saying to things that you’re not comfortable will not only give you the respect, but make her give you keys to her heart locked by trust issues.

When faced with problems – talk about it. Share things what bothers you, than shrug her off, she is there to listen, and do what she can for you.

When caught in a mistake, admit it. Don’t be like an 8-year old in which hiding things under the rug will make it more of a disappointment and I am telling you now that by keeping skeletons in the closet will just haunt you and bother you. But if you are the master of the closet – heck your partner is not like any other relationship, she would find out, after all her suspicion senses are heightened, much powerful than a woman’s instinct. Like I mentioned she’s heard all the same stories, don’t you think she might have heard your explanation of the story in the past.

You might as well be transparent to her on the onset – set expectations of who you were. If you were a criminal, a drug addict, might as well come clean – tell the whole thing of who you are. And if you’re not ready, set the expectation that you’d tell her things at your own time, gradually at your comfort level – let her respect that, and you must keep your word that you’d come clean. Your love one can be your best friend, she’d listen out to you differently and objectively not subjectively.

You also have to come clean to where you are, what you are doing – we don’t want assumptions. I remember reading to an article that Assumptions are the termites of a relationship. You don’t want her to worry, and foremost you don’t want to get her paranoid. Getting her crazy with all the crazy thoughts will eat her and it may be used against you.

So moving forward, what have we learned today “A pure hand needs no glove to cover it.”  ~Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Scarlet Letter.

Transparent you must be to keep this relationship working.
